Y'all … I love Pickles.

I love them so much… When we moved to Maine we had visions of lush gardens filled with abundant veggies to harvest…. little did we know that just down the road my parents had inherited some of the richest soil around.

During our first summer here in Maine, my parents were harvesting nearly 40 cucumbers a week from just THREE plants!

So, naturally, we decided to take up canning.

But who wants to wait to eat delicious pickles? (Not me.)

So my Mama (Miss Debbie) created a quick and easy (and super kid-friendly) recipe for refrigerator pickles. We had all the ingredients in the garden already. If you don’t they’re easily accessible at your local farm stand, farmers’ market, or grocery.

The best part about this recipe? You only need to wait two days for the optimal flavor to be enjoyed!

Pickle day has become a tradition in our nature classroom for the last four years. My family pitches in with their weekly harvest of pickles, I supply the dill and many of our program families harvest their own garlic!

So, now it’s not so secret as I’m sharing it with you today!
